General theme
A city of modernity and high technology? Exploring Diversity, Digitalization, and Sustainability in Tokyo.
Tokyo is the most populous city in the world. It is a modern city with advanced infrastructure and skyscrapers, but it is also a place of contrasts and contradictions. The city itself can provide a rich context for reflecting on the SOMAT themes of diversity, digitalization, and sustainability. The students can use their direct experience of Tokyo landmarks and neighborhoods to critically assess success stories and challenges related to implementing the SOMAT themes.
